Why fix a windshield chip before it spreads
A small chip doesn't stay small for long in Iowa. A cold morning, a hot afternoon, a pothole on I-235, or running the defroster on cold glass can all push a chip into a crack. Once it spreads into a long crack, repair usually isn't an option anymore and you're looking at a new windshield.
Repair: $70 for the first repair, plus tax. Replacement: about $300–$450 without recalibration, about $550+ with recalibration.
Calling while it's still a chip is the easiest way to keep it a $70 job.

How much windshield chip repair costs
Can my windshield chip be repaired?
First chip repair: $70. Each additional repair: $20. Mobile chip repair at your home or work: no extra charge. Tax is added to the total.
That's the whole chip-repair price. If we look at the damage and it's past repairing, we'll tell you before any work starts and quote the replacement. Windshield replacement runs about $300–$450 without recalibration and about $550+ with it. Static recalibration is done in our shop, and a mobile fee applies when we come to you for a replacement.
Chips are often good repair candidates when they're small (about the size of a quarter or less), shallow, outside the driver's direct line of sight, and not spreading. A new windshield is usually the better call for long or growing cracks, spidering, damage at the edge of the glass, or damage right in your view. Not sure which one you've got? Call and describe it, and we'll give you a straight answer.
